An interview with general consular Ms. Lainey Zhang, a pioneer in international education
张琳琳总领事
张琳琳女士，英语专业本科，研究生在读，中学一级教师，国家二级心理咨询师，2010年加盟枫叶，现任上海枫叶团委书记兼总领事，曾任武昌理工学院外语学院团委书记、武汉枫叶国际学校领事主任、上海枫叶国际学校招生办主任、初中部校长等职务，担任武汉枫叶第四届、第五届周恩来班领事，上海枫叶第一届、第四届、第九届周恩来班领事，第四届邓颖超班班主任。曾获上海市先进班集体，金山区德育先进个人，枫叶教育集团“枫叶名师”称号，多篇论文、案例发表于各级刊物。

偶然一次机会之下，张老师受邀参加了枫叶英语艺术节的活动，在那次的汇报演出上她看到了舞台上高中生对语言应用的能力和他们自如的表现力，相对于体制内学校的学生是截然不同的，这让她对枫叶产生了兴趣。在上海国际教育发达的办学情况下，她依然扎根枫叶，她希望她所任职的学校能够矢志不移的沿袭教育初心，实现办学使命。
In an opportunity, Ms. Lainey was invited to participate in the Maple Leaf English Art Festival. In the presentation performance, she saw the high school students' ability in language application and their free expression on the stage, which was completely different from the students within the system, which aroused her interest in Maple Leaf. In spite of the development of international education in Shanghai, she is still rooted in Maple Leaf. She hopes that the school she works for can unswervingly uphold the original intention of education and realize the mission of running the school.
对于国际教育百花齐放的大背景之下，在国内的教育集团和办学机构还在不遗余力的引进境外课程时，枫叶自研课程，开发课程，实施转型。针对枫叶世界学校课程，张老师提出在国际教育的舞台上，中国也应当对外输出意识与文化，而枫叶世界学校课程就是整合了中外教育教学的资源，在英文学术课程基础上，融合中文学术课程、汉语语言课程和英语语言课程，是枫叶在全球构建学校网络中使用的通用课程。“枫叶世界学校课程在适用于中国学生学习的基础之上，同时也适用于英语为母语的学生。”张老师对枫叶世界学校课程这样评价道。
In the context of the flourishing of international education, while the domestic education groups and schools are still using foreign courses, Maple Leaf has independently researched and developed courses, and implemented the transformation. As for the curriculum of Maple Leaf World School, Ms. Lainey proposed that China should also export its consciousness and culture on the stage of international education. The curriculum of Maple Leaf World School integrates the teaching resources of both Chinese and western countries. On the basis of the English academic curriculum, the curriculum integrates the Chinese academic curriculum, the Chinese language curriculum and the English language curriculum, which is the universal curriculum used by Maple Leaf in building the global school network. "Maple Leaf World School curriculum is not only for Chinese students, but also for native English speakers." Ms. Lainey commented on the curriculum of Maple Leaf World School.

十年前，张老师从武汉来到上海，经历了上海枫叶的创建与发展。“枫叶学生身上最明显的一个优势就是目标明确，综合能力强，乐于获取知识，热衷社会事务。”张老师对枫叶学生给予了这样的评价。
Ten years ago, Ms. Lainey came to Shanghai from Wuhan and experienced the establishment and development of Shanghai Maple Leaf. "One of the most obvious strengths of Maple Leaf students is that they have a clear goal, a strong comprehensive ability, a willingness to acquire knowledge and a passion for social affairs." Ms. Lainey said this to Maple Leaf students.
回想当时在初入枫叶的时候，张老师对待学生从低段的引领，到高段的仰视，她始终坚信在枫叶学生身上学到的，比教会给枫叶学生的多。
When she first entered Maple Leaf, Ms. Lainey treated her students from her guidance in middle school to her admiration in high school, Ms. Lainey always believes that she can learn more from Maple Leaf students than she can teach them.
“入学的时候是我在教他们，而在毕业之后，是他们用自己的学识和学养反过来教我。”
"I taught them when they got there, and they taught me when they graduated."

因为本身总领事的身份，她看多了许多枫叶学生的成长经历，也正因为这样，她对自己女儿的教育理念上，也会给予更多的尊重和选择权，这也是她和枫叶学生相处过程中所获得的经验。
As a general consulor, she has learned a lot about the growth experiences of Maple Leaf students, and because of this, she will give more respect and choice to her daughter's education, which is also the experience she has gained in the process of getting along with Maple Leaf students.
“如果说真的是拿我去教孩子和对待学生相比的话，我把更多的温柔与耐心给了学生。”张老师这么说道。因为自己工作上的原因，对自己的女儿而言其实并没有太多的时间给予陪伴，也没有太多的耐心去给到女儿。但是她并不是感到愧疚，而是认为在这样的成长环境之下，她对待学生的态度和我对待事业，对待作为老师这个职业的态度也会影响到孩子，能够对其未来的职业选择产生影响，这也是她最想看到的。
"If I really teach my daughter compared to treat students, I give students more tenderness and patience." "Ms. Lainey said. Because of her job, She doesn't have much time to accompany her daughter. However, she does not feel guilty, she believes that in such a growing environment, her attitude towards students and her career and career as a teacher will also affect her daughter and influence her future career choice, which is what she wants to see most.
